Add Vane to your site.
Two lines. A sentence about the future ends in the dot; your readers call it before they see the crowd.
Mark a sentence
Load the script once, then wrap any sentence that has a claim on vane.day. Leave out its full stop: the dot ends it.
<script src="https://vane.day/e.js" async></script>
<span data-vane="claim-slug">the sentence</span>Where your editor cannot add attributes to text, link the sentence to its claim instead: <a href="https://vane.day/c/claim-slug">the sentence</a>. The dot follows the link; without the script it stays a plain link. The paragraph’s container must grow with its content. If your site sets a Content-Security-Policy, allow https://vane.day in script-src and connect-src.
The dot appears
Live, from what is open right now. Tap it. Yes and No lead to the claim on vane.day; this page is not an approved article, so a call made from here is recorded without a way back.
Nothing is open right now. The dot appears when a claim is.
Get a claim
In this phase, claims are created and approved by Vane: one testable sentence with a closing time, a resolution rule and a source. Propose one by email and you get the slug back. Proposing from any public source is coming.
How it behaves
- The Island inherits your font. No fonts are loaded.
- The crowd is hidden until a call. No figure reaches the page before then.
- Calls are sealed on vane.day. Yes and No open the claim there; one tap confirms.
- No tracking of your readers beyond the call itself. No cookies, no identifiers, no referrer; one request for the claims’ terms, and one flag in your site’s storage so “Call it” shows once.
- Under 40 KB.
