What is Vane?

Vane is not somewhere you go to predict the future. It is what happens when the internet says something about the future.

Vane does not ask what you think. It remembers what you thought before reality answered.

The laws

Only resolvable claims get a dot. A claim cannot exist without a closing time, a deadline, a resolution rule and an authoritative source. Nothing is accepted after calls close.
The crowd is invisible until after the call. While a claim is pending, no crowd figure reaches anyone who has not called. After resolution the frozen figure is public.
The call is sealed, and so is the claim. Calls cannot be changed or deleted. After the first call the claim is frozen; a material change is a new claim.
Reality resolves. Only the resolution action sets an outcome, always with evidence, always as an appended revision. Nobody votes on truth.
Money never touches the record. There is no payment code.
Free and portable. No feature gating. Points are readable on a public profile.
No feed. The object page, the embed, the Telegram bot, the profile, and admin. Nothing else.
No Vane where the rule is ambiguous. The rule is one testable sentence with a date and a source.
Vane only interrupts with reality. Magic links, and messages when a claim resolves, is corrected or voided. Nothing else.
